I think the reason may be the follow:
Because of the '-e' param,
echo "-e" is irrelevant here.
`[ -n ... ] &&`: if $GITCACHE_HOST is none, process will exit 1 `[ -z ... ] ||`: if $GITCACHE_HOST is none, process will keep executing.
