Hi guys,
I'm from DB SIG, currently, everyone in openEuler is busying in the development. And we also face some questions need to be clear, so we want to collect some ideas from openEuler community, customers and users.
We are difficult to judge whether we should still reserve the following DB related software/library in openEuler 22.03 LTS. So we consider to make them vote in public ,direct us to make the decision according to the requests we will get. Note that the mentioned ones are in openEuler 20.03 LTS, you guys need to leave your comment(request) in the issue( https://gitee.com/openeuler/community/issues/I4SGDD?from=project-issue). We will leverage our work based on the issue comments.
1. greenplum(6.17.0) 2. postgresql(10.5)/postgresql-13(13.3) 3. neo4j (4.3.0) 4. tidb (4.0.14)
Note that "issue comment format", please leave which ones you still need and request summarized content there. Thanks very much.

Bo,
Thank you for raising this to the mailing list. I also suggest to propose a topic on the regular meeting of release-management sig. It's the direct interface to our partners and users.

Thanks very much for your advice, Hu.
We had a meeting with release SIG yesterday, and we had a draft plan for the mentioned pkgs, but during discussion, there was part of conflict and , For better way, we both think that we'd better to raise this in public and cover all cases(customer/personal developer side and generic community plan side). So raise in ML is a part of this work. ;-)
Thanks,

I believe greenplum, neo4j and tidb are not included in openEuler Everything ISO or EPOL repo. That means they are not part of the distribution, just part of the community ecosystem. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
PostgreSQL is in the distribution and probably has to be preserved, as other packages might depend on the client libs it provides to support connecting to pg database.

Hi Kai,
Thanks for joining in. ;-)
Actually, the mentioned pkgs/gitee repos contain the several branches, each branch means it provide the said pkg for the specific openEuler version. And the mentioned pkgs had released in openEuler 20.03 LTS update version, I think that's the reason that it's difficult to find in public.
Such as: tidb https://repo.openeuler.org/openEuler-20.03-LTS-SP1/EPOL/update/aarch64/Packa...
gpdb https://repo.openeuler.org/openEuler-20.03-LTS-SP1/update/aarch64/Packages/g...
neo4j https://repo.openeuler.org/openEuler-20.03-LTS-SP1/EPOL/update/aarch64/Packa...
So they were part of openEuler 20.03 release pkg, we need to consider whether we should remain the original work in openEuler 22.03 version.
And thanks for your suggest towards PG part. I think there was a misunderstanding in my previous description, sorry for that. Currently, there are 2 versions in openEuler 20.03. They are 10.5 and 13.3 . What we want to discuss here for PG here is, we want to figure out whether one of them lack users, then just maintain the more popular ones and the following latest version in the upcoming openEuler LTS.. Also we can provide the newer version PG libs for other packages which depend on it.
Thanks,
BR
