View in Browser [Beijing, December 16, 2023] openEuler Summit 2023, the annual flagship event of the openEuler community, wrapped up at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. This event was packed with invaluable insights and exciting highlights. Let's relive the wonderful moments together! Key Messages from the Keynote From digital openEuler to intelligent openEuler openEuler and AI are deeply integrated. On the one hand, openEuler uses the ChatGLM base model to train EulerCopilot, which can help with code generation, problem analysis, and system maintenance, making openEuler smarter. On the other hand, openEuler achieves the deep integration of CPU and NPU through heterogeneous resource management and scheduling. openEuler can balance memory and computing power, utilize idle resources, and improve AI training and inference performance, making AI more efficient. openEuler supports all mainstream computing architectures, such as Arm, x86, RISC-V, etc. and major AI processors, such as NVIDIA and Ascend, becoming the ideal choice for enabling diversified computing power.
Accelerating openEuler's global reach together openEuler is committed to creating an international open source collaboration platform. It works with mainstream global foundations and supports 98% of the open source software worldwide. openEuler also contributes to the global software supply chain security by developing and promoting standards and specifications like OpenChain, OpenSSF. It achieves the OpenChain ISO 5230 certification and the OpenSSF SLSA L3 standard for its community infrastructure. Moreover, it cooperates with global communities and organizations like SPDX, CHAOSS to meet the localization needs of different regions and to improve the international governance of the openEuler community. Currently, openEuler serves more than 150 countries and regions, aiming to create a new global ecosystem and a new paradigm for China's open source industry.
Intel, new gold member of the openEuler community Since joined openEuler in 2021, Intel has helped to adapt and optimize the x86 platform for openEuler, bringing multiple generations of x86 platforms, such as Ice Lake, SPR, and Emerald Rapids, to openEuler. It has also integrated the AI computing acceleration framework into openEuler and made significant contributions to several core openEuler SIGs. At the event, Intel announced that it has officially become a gold member of the openEuler community and will collaborate with the industry to build the operating system ecosystem backbone, providing better resources and support for global developers. Yang Jiguo, the Director of Intel Open Source Technology Center, said: " Intel will continue to integrate Intel's upstream open source projects into openEuler and work with openEuler to explore more AI innovations, enabling AI computing power from both software and hardware to meet the intelligent computing needs of various industries. "
Share of openEuler-based OSs in China's server OS market has reached 36.8% openEuler has grown rapidly in the past year. As of now, the openEuler-based OSs has accumulated more than 6.1 million installations, and according to IDC China, the openEuler-based OSs will account for 36.8% of China's server OS market share in 2023, ranking No.1. In four years of open source, openEuler has made remarkable progress, creating a comprehensive development system that covers technological innovation, ecological development, and community collaboration.
Annual Outstanding Contributors & Annual Outstanding Projects openEuler is driven by innovation and powered by developers. It provides an open platform for global developers to build a diverse and inclusive ecosystem. At the event, the openEuler community announced 29 Annual Outstanding Projects and 34 Annual Outstanding Contributors to honor the achievements and efforts of the community members. The openEuler community expressed its gratitude and appreciation to all the participants and supporters of the open source movement, and encouraged more people to join the community and create a better digital infrastructure for the world.
More excitement … Over 2,000 m2 exhibition hall, hundreds of booths. Hundreds of exhibits from the openEuler community, partners, users, and organizations around the world demonstrated the innovation, prosperity, scalability, and globalization of openEuler in different fields, such as technology, industry, and ecology.
8 technical sessions brought together experts and developers from various fields to share their insights and experiences on the latest technologies and trends in the open source industry, such as AI, Linux kernel, cloud native, and more.
SIG meetings at openEuler Summit 2023 gathered thousands of developers, scholars, experts, and open source enthusiasts from more than 40 SIGs in the openEuler community. They engaged in lively discussions on various topics, such as industry applications, joint innovation cases, and community ecosystem development.
