Fred:

Thanks and the links are helpful.

I count 2312 repos and 982 of them are marked as public. These numbers give the impression that the private repos include software packages which are not ready for inclusion in openEuler _yet_.  It’ll be helpful to get confirmation on that.

On the other hand, I think it’s good to start a vote for that “all packages *included* in openEuler *must* be *publicly* maintained. “

Regards

Xinwei

Hi Xinwei,

From [1] you can read how the repositories are managed. From [2] you can find the private repositories by searching the keyword private.

Subject: [Tc] [proposal] The open all repositories

hi all and tc members

Today we discussed the private repositories management on community weekly-meeting. please refer to the log[1]

[Xinwei] Thanks for the log. But I went it through, and failed to understand the issue. Please give more details. i.e. list of private repos and what are they.

we already get agreement on this meet that to open all other private repositories AQAP, I open this mail thread to get approval from the tc team. here are several reasons that should open them:

1.  The governance encourage to open all, as the initial partner of this community, they should be open.

[Xinwei]  I think this is a political decision, which is right to be made by board. TC should focus on the technical side.

2. The privilege with public repositories and private repositories is quick different, that will make much efforts on managing  them.

[Xinwei] Could you give more details on the technical difficulty ?

other more, I would propose to not accept private repository any more. please review it, any comments  are welcome. thanks.
