[PATCH openEuler-1.0-LTS] media: uapi/linux/cec.h: cec_msg_set_reply_to: zero flags
by Zhang Zekun 30 Dec '24

From: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco(a)xs4all.nl> stable inclusion from stable-v4.19.323 commit 4afab2197e530b480c4cc099255d12a08c6a1f93 category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/openeuler/kernel/issues/IBBN6V Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?id… ------------------------------------------------------------- commit 599f6899051cb70c4e0aa9fd591b9ee220cb6f14 upstream. The cec_msg_set_reply_to() helper function never zeroed the struct cec_msg flags field, this can cause unexpected behavior if flags was uninitialized to begin with. [PATCH openEuler-1.0-LTS] btrfs: ref-verify: fix use-after-free after invalid ref action
by Yifan Qiao 30 Dec '24

30 Dec '24
From: Filipe Manana <fdmanana(a)suse.com> mainline inclusion from mainline-v6.13-rc2 commit 7c4e39f9d2af4abaf82ca0e315d1fd340456620f category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/src-openeuler/kernel/issues/IBEAOH CVE: CVE-2024-56581 Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?… -------------------------------- At btrfs_ref_tree_mod() after we successfully inserted the new ref entry (local variable 'ref') into the respective block entry's rbtree (local variable 'be'), if we find an unexpected action of BTRFS_DROP_DELAYED_REF, we error out and free the ref entry without removing it from the block entry's rbtree. Then in the error path of btrfs_ref_tree_mod() we call btrfs_free_ref_cache(), which iterates over all block entries and then calls free_block_entry() for each one, and there we will trigger a use-after-free when we are called against the block entry to which we added the freed ref entry to its rbtree, since the rbtree still points to the block entry, as we didn't remove it from the rbtree before freeing it in the error path at btrfs_ref_tree_mod(). Fix this by removing the new ref entry from the rbtree before freeing it. Syzbot report this with the following stack traces: BTRFS error (device loop0 state EA): Ref action 2, root 5, ref_root 0, parent 8564736, owner 0, offset 0, num_refs 18446744073709551615 [PATCH OLK-6.6] btrfs: ref-verify: fix use-after-free after invalid ref action
by Yifan Qiao 30 Dec '24

Syzbot report this with the following stack traces: BTRFS error (device loop0 state EA): Ref action 2, root 5, ref_root 0, parent 8564736, owner 0, offset 0, num_refs 18446744073709551615 [PATCH OLK-5.10] btrfs: ref-verify: fix use-after-free after invalid ref action
by Yifan Qiao 30 Dec '24

Syzbot report this with the following stack traces: BTRFS error (device loop0 state EA): Ref action 2, root 5, ref_root 0, parent 8564736, owner 0, offset 0, num_refs 18446744073709551615 [PATCH openEuler-22.03-LTS-SP1] btrfs: ref-verify: fix use-after-free after invalid ref action
by Yifan Qiao 30 Dec '24

Syzbot report this with the following stack traces: BTRFS error (device loop0 state EA): Ref action 2, root 5, ref_root 0, parent 8564736, owner 0, offset 0, num_refs 18446744073709551615 [PATCH OLK-6.6] ksmbd: fix use-after-free in SMB request handling
by Yifan Qiao 30 Dec '24

30 Dec '24
From: Yunseong Kim <yskelg(a)gmail.com> mainline inclusion from mainline-v6.13-rc1 commit 9a8c5d89d327ff58e9b2517f8a6afb4181d32c6e category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/src-openeuler/kernel/issues/IBEAF6 CVE: CVE-2024-53186 Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?… -------------------------------- A race condition exists between SMB request handling in `ksmbd_conn_handler_loop()` and the freeing of `ksmbd_conn` in the workqueue handler `handle_ksmbd_work()`. This leads to a UAF. - KASAN: slab-use-after-free Read in handle_ksmbd_work - KASAN: slab-use-after-free in rtlock_slowlock_locked This race condition arises as follows: - `ksmbd_conn_handler_loop()` waits for `conn->r_count` to reach zero: `wait_event(conn->r_count_q, atomic_read(&conn->r_count) == 0);` - Meanwhile, `handle_ksmbd_work()` decrements `conn->r_count` using `atomic_dec_return(&conn->r_count)`, and if it reaches zero, calls `ksmbd_conn_free()`, which frees `conn`. - However, after `handle_ksmbd_work()` decrements `conn->r_count`, it may still access `conn->r_count_q` in the following line: `waitqueue_active(&conn->r_count_q)` or `wake_up(&conn->r_count_q)` This results in a UAF, as `conn` has already been freed. The discovery of this UAF can be referenced in the following PR for syzkaller's support for SMB requests.
