hulk inclusion category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/openeuler/kernel/issues/I7LXK8 -------------------------------- After I add a 10GB pmem device, I got the following error message when insert module: insmod: vmalloc error: size 16384, vm_struct allocation failed, mode:0xcc0(GFP_KERNEL), nodemask=(null),cpuset=/,mems_allowed=0 If CONFIG_RANDOMIZE_BASE is set, the module region can be located in the vmalloc region entirely. Although module_alloc() can fall back to a 2GB window if ARM64_MODULE_PLTS is set, the module region is still easily exhausted because the module region is located at bottom of vmalloc region and the vmalloc region is allocated from bottom to top. Skip module region if not calling from module_alloc(). We mixed the word "delayed" for both kinds and caused somewhat ambiguity. This patch renames the later one (delayed by active management) to "inactive", because it is used for workqueue active management and most of its related symbols are named with "active" or "activate". All "delayed" and "DELAYED" are carefully checked and renamed one by one to avoid accidentally changing the name of the other kind for timer-delayed. No functional change intended. This results in several types of UAFs. The root cause of this is that you use the dvb_device_open() function, which does not implement a conditional statement that checks 'dvbnet->exit'. So, add 'remove_mutex` to protect 'dvbnet->exit' and use locked_dvb_net_open() function to check 'dvbnet->exit'. Although module_alloc() can fall back to a 2GB window if ARM64_MODULE_PLTS is set, the module region is still easily exhausted because the module region is located at bottom of vmalloc region and the vmalloc region is allocated from bottom to top. Then when reducing the ringbuffer, and if some reduced pages exist dirty 'entries' data, they will be added into 'cpu_buffer->overrun' (see rb_remove_pages()), which cause wrong 'overrun' count and eventually cause the deadloop issue. To fix it, we need to clear every pages in rb_reset_cpu(). Add OPENEULER_VERSION_CODE to version.h, so modules or applications can identify the specific kernel version. In most cases, the out-of-tree module needs to identify the release version of the openEuler for interface adaptation. The existing OPENEULER_VERSION() and OPENEULER_VERSION_CODE() cannot distinguish between LTS versions and innovative versions. Therefore, a new macro OPENEULER_LTS is introduced. Since LDAPR is not available on all CPUs, add a cpufeature to detect it at runtime and allow the instruction to be used with alternative code patching. The cause of refcount overflow is increased in try_async_pf (get_user_page) without being decreased in mmu_set_spte() while handling ept violation. In kvm_release_pfn_clean(), only unreserved page will call put_page. However, zero page is reserved.
