Therefore, there is no need to down_write or clear the flag, which will affect fork performance. Fix this by returning early if octx is NULL in dup_userfaultfd(). By applying this patch we can get a 1.3% performance improvement for lmbench fork_prot. In high-concurrency scenarios such as the "/test_vmalloc.sh run_test_mask=7 nr_threads=64" scenario, the performance is improved by more than 10x. The run time was reduced from 18m45.268s to 1m45.066s.
