[PATCH openEuler-1.0-LTS] x86/mm: Fix pti_clone_pgtable() alignment assumption
by Liu Shixin 24 Sep '24

24 Sep '24
From: Peter Zijlstra <peterz(a)infradead.org> stable inclusion from stable-v4.19.320 commit 18da1b27ce16a14a9b636af9232acb4fb24f4c9e category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/src-openeuler/kernel/issues/IAOXYY CVE: CVE-2024-44965 Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?id… -------------------------------- [ Upstream commit 41e71dbb0e0a0fe214545fe64af031303a08524c ] Guenter reported dodgy crashes on an i386-nosmp build using GCC-11 that had the form of endless traps until entry stack exhaust and then It turned out that pti_clone_pgtable() had alignment assumptions on the start address, notably it hard assumes start is PMD aligned. This is true on x86_64, but very much not true on i386. These assumptions can cause the end condition to malfunction, leading to a 'short' clone. Guess what happens when the user mapping has a short copy of the entry text? Use the correct increment form for addr to avoid alignment assumptions. [PATCH openEuler-1.0-LTS] wifi: mwifiex: Do not return unused priv in mwifiex_get_priv_by_id()
by Liu Jian 24 Sep '24

24 Sep '24
From: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer(a)pengutronix.de> stable inclusion from stable-v4.19.322 commit a12cf97cbefa139ef8d95081f2ea047cbbd74b7a category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/src-openeuler/kernel/issues/IARYCZ CVE: CVE-2024-46755 Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?id… ------------------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit c145eea2f75ff7949392aebecf7ef0a81c1f6c14 ] mwifiex_get_priv_by_id() returns the priv pointer corresponding to the bss_num and bss_type, but without checking if the priv is actually currently in use. Unused priv pointers do not have a wiphy attached to them which can lead to NULL pointer dereferences further down the callstack. Fix this by returning only used priv pointers which have priv->bss_mode set to something else than NL80211_IFTYPE_UNSPECIFIED.
