For example, procA pid 1000: node 0 cpus: 0 1 2 3 node 0 free: 57199MB node 1 cpus: 4 5 6 7 node 1 free: 55930MB cpuset/test/cpuset.mems 1 cpuset/test/tasks 1000 cpuset/test/cpuset.cpus 0-3 No cdm node exists. When procA malloc 100MB memory, the result is: node 0 cpus: 0 1 2 3 node 0 free: 57099MB node 1 cpus: 4 5 6 7 node 1 free: 55930MB This is not what we expected, and in fact 100 MB of memory should be allocated from node1. The reason for this problem is that THP specifies __GFP_THISNODE to attempt to allocate from the local node. Therefore, the cpuset enforcement should be ignored only when explicitly allocating memory from the cdm node using __GFP_ THISNODE. Although module_alloc() can fall back to a 2GB window if ARM64_MODULE_PLTS is set, the module region is still easily exhausted because the module region is located at bottom of vmalloc region and the vmalloc region is allocated from bottom to top. Skip module region if not calling from module_alloc(). One is for timer-delayed work items which are visible to workqueue users. The other kind is for work items delayed by active management which can not be directly visible to workqueue users. We mixed the word "delayed" for both kinds and caused somewhat ambiguity. This patch renames the later one (delayed by active management) to "inactive", because it is used for workqueue active management and most of its related symbols are named with "active" or "activate". All "delayed" and "DELAYED" are carefully checked and renamed one by one to avoid accidentally changing the name of the other kind for timer-delayed. No functional change intended. The cause of refcount overflow is increased in try_async_pf (get_user_page) without being decreased in mmu_set_spte() while handling ept violation. In kvm_release_pfn_clean(), only unreserved page will call put_page. However, zero page is reserved. Then when reducing the ringbuffer, and if some reduced pages exist dirty 'entries' data, they will be added into 'cpu_buffer->overrun' (see rb_remove_pages()), which cause wrong 'overrun' count and eventually cause the deadloop issue. To fix it, we need to clear every pages in rb_reset_cpu(). In most cases, the out-of-tree module needs to identify the release version of the openEuler for interface adaptation. The existing OPENEULER_VERSION() and OPENEULER_VERSION_CODE() cannot distinguish between LTS versions and innovative versions. Therefore, a new macro OPENEULER_LTS is introduced. Thus, the lookup expression marks anonymous sets as inactive in the next generation to ensure it is not reachable in this transaction anymore and decrement the set refcount as introduced by c1592a89942e ("netfilter: nf_tables: deactivate anonymous set from preparation phase"). The abort step takes care of undoing the anonymous set. This is also consistent with rule deletion, where NFT_TRANS_PREPARE is used. Note that this error path is exercised in the preparation step of the commit protocol. This patch replaces nf_tables_rule_release() by the deactivate and destroy calls, this time with NFT_TRANS_PREPARE. Due to this incorrect error handling, it is possible to access a dangling pointer to the anonymous set that remains in the transaction list. The cause of refcount overflow is increased in try_async_pf (get_user_page) without being decreased in mmu_set_spte() while handling ept violation. In kvm_release_pfn_clean(), only unreserved page will call put_page. However, zero page is reserved. So, as well as creating and destroy vm, the refcount of zero page will continue to increase until it overflows. step1: echo 10000 > /sys/kernel/pages_to_scan/pages_to_scan echo 1 > /sys/kernel/pages_to_scan/run echo 1 > /sys/kernel/pages_to_scan/use_zero_pages step2: just create several normal qemu kvm vms. Calling kthread_stop before executing kthread's threadfn will return -EINTR. We can complete the release of memory resources in this state.
