[PATCH openEuler-22.03-LTS-SP1] xfs: don't walk off the end of a directory data block
by Long Li 03 Aug '24

03 Aug '24
From: lei lu <llfamsec(a)gmail.com> mainline inclusion from mainline-v6.10-rc2 commit 0c7fcdb6d06cdf8b19b57c17605215b06afa864a category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/src-openeuler/kernel/issues/IAG8UD CVE: CVE-2024-41013 Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?… -------------------------------- This adds sanity checks for xfs_dir2_data_unused and xfs_dir2_data_entry to make sure don't stray beyond valid memory region. Before patching, the loop simply checks that the start offset of the dup and dep is within the range. So in a crafted image, if last entry is xfs_dir2_data_unused, we can change dup->length to dup->length-1 and leave 1 byte of space. In the next traversal, this space will be considered as dup or dep. We may encounter an out of bound read when accessing the fixed members. In the patch, we make sure that the remaining bytes large enough to hold an unused entry before accessing xfs_dir2_data_unused and xfs_dir2_data_unused is XFS_DIR2_DATA_ALIGN byte aligned. We also make sure that the remaining bytes large enough to hold a dirent with a single-byte name before accessing xfs_dir2_data_entry. However, it is not the correct check as the implementation of list_first_entry is not designed to return NULL for empty lists. Instead, use list_first_entry_or_null() which does return NULL if the list is empty. Flagged by Smatch. Compile tested only. [PATCH openEuler-22.03-LTS-SP1] inet_diag: Initialize pad field in struct inet_diag_req_v2

From: Shigeru Yoshida <syoshida(a)redhat.com> stable inclusion from stable-v5.10.222 commit 7ef519c8efde152e0d632337f2994f6921e0b7e4 category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/src-openeuler/kernel/issues/IAGPRU CVE: CVE-2024-42106 Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?id… --------------------------- [ Upstream commit 61cf1c739f08190a4cbf047b9fbb192a94d87e3f ] KMSAN reported uninit-value access in raw_lookup() [1]. Diag for raw sockets uses the pad field in struct inet_diag_req_v2 for the underlying protocol. This field corresponds to the sdiag_raw_protocol field in struct inet_diag_req_raw. inet_diag_get_exact_compat() converts inet_diag_req to inet_diag_req_v2, but leaves the pad field uninitialized. [PATCH openEuler-1.0-LTS] USB: core: Fix duplicate endpoint bug by clearing reserved bits in the descriptor
by Li Huafei 03 Aug '24

03 Aug '24
From: Alan Stern <stern(a)rowland.harvard.edu> stable inclusion from stable-v4.19.318 commit d8418fd083d1b90a6c007cf8dcf81aeae274727b category: bugfix bugzilla: https://gitee.com/src-openeuler/kernel/issues/IAGEN0 CVE: CVE-2024-41035 Reference: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?id… -------------------------------- commit a368ecde8a5055b627749b09c6218ef793043e47 upstream. Syzbot has identified a bug in usbcore (see the Closes: tag below) caused by our assumption that the reserved bits in an endpoint descriptor's bEndpointAddress field will always be 0. As a result of the bug, the endpoint_is_duplicate() routine in config.c (and possibly other routines as well) may believe that two descriptors are for distinct endpoints, even though they have the same direction and endpoint number. This can lead to confusion, including the bug identified by syzbot (two descriptors with matching endpoint numbers and directions, where one was interrupt and the other was bulk). To fix the bug, we will clear the reserved bits in bEndpointAddress when we parse the descriptor. (Note that both the USB-2.0 and USB-3.1 specs say these bits are "Reserved, reset to zero".) This requires us to make a copy of the descriptor earlier in usb_parse_endpoint() and use the copy instead of the original when checking for duplicates.
